Disable Papercut on SSH

Prof. Weinman told Martin and I that it is a nuisance for papercut to start every time he logged in to a MathLAN computer via ssh -Y. We agreed with him.

To prevent this, I changed the line in michie's /etc/profile

/usr/bin/papercut &
/usr/bin/papercut &

# Start papercut if user is not logged in via ssh
if [ "$SSH_CONNECTION" = "" ]; then
   /usr/bin/papercut &

I tested this out, and it seemed to work correctly.

I then copied the /etc/profile file from zuse to setup, as michie's /etc/profile did not include the lines:

if [ -d /etc/profile.d ]; then
  for i in /etc/profile.d/*.sh; do
    if [ -r $i ]; then
      . $i
  unset i

Which are lines that I found in all other workstations' =/etc/profile=s.

(on setup) # scp /setup/squeeze/etc/profile

I then made the same changes as the ones on michie to the /setup/squeeze/etc/profile on flajolet.

I created and ran the following script:

. /home/stone/utilities/squeeze/machine-categories

for machine in $WORKSTATIONS
  /usr/bin/ssh root@${machine} '/bin/mv /etc/profile /etc/profile-old; /bin/cp /setup/squeeze/etc/profile /etc/profile; chmod 644 /etc/profile'
